Methods
The methods followed in the creation of the dataset, including description of field, laboratory and processing steps, and quality control procedures
Current Methods
Sample analysis
Started: 1991-05-01Samples are sorted, identified and stored at the Entomology Research Laboratory.
Past Methods (No longer in use)
- Light trap
Started: 1991-05-01
Ended: 1995-11-01A single light trap is placed in or near the center of four circular (20 m diameter) plots at each elevation.
- Light trap operation
Started: 1991-05-01
Ended: 1995-11-01Light traps are operated once a week from April/May to October.
- Sample elevations
Started: 1991-05-01
Ended: 1995-11-01Three elevations are sampled: 400 m (Proctor Maple Research Center), 640 m (Underhill State Park) and 1160 m (summit).
- Current elevation use
Started: 1994-11-01
Ended: 1995-11-01The 1160 m elevation is discontinued, a 715 m site is added, and the 400 and 640 m sites are continued.
