Read More | Trout population surveys were conducted throughout the state beginning in 1987 at Sugarbush Resorts and since 1997 at Stowe Mountain. Surveys consisted of multiple run sampling with a 500-volt DC stre am-side electrofisher. Survey sections were generally 250 ft in length and were conducted during the summer months (July-early August) when stream flow had subsided and brook trout young-of-year (YOY) became large enough to effectively sample.
