Project Overview
A research group lead by the USDA Forest Service that is looking into climate adaptation of different red spruce populations across its range from North Carolina to Canada by elevation.
Objectives
The seeds will be used to develop progeny and provenance test plantings at several locations along the east coast to better understand the genetic basis of climate adaptation for this species. The overarching goal is to deploy seeds to nurseries that are best adapted to future climate predictions at specific latitude and elevations.
