  • Meteorology data
    Started: 1999-07-26

    This Mount Mansfield station provides basic meteorological variables including wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, total solar irradiance, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), and precipitation during non-freezing months. Data are stored as 15 minute averages to a data storage module changed every 57 days or less. The station is located within a mixed aspen-birch spruce-fir forest, and represents mid-elevation forest meteorology.

  • Site Description

    Station is located within the Ranch Valley watershed on the east slope of Mount Mansfield, about 200 feet from the auto-toll road in a small opening in spruce/fir forest. Approximate coordinates: 44.5194 N, 72.7988 W. Approximate elevation: 2878 feet.
