What's this?

Description: In this project we were interested in comparing the climate response between multiple co-occurring species. While, we found that the general response was to June climate and that soil moisture was the leading driver of growth, we found distinct species-specific differences. The ongoing work aims at determining what drives these differences.

How trees were selected: Two tree species chosen at each site location, multiple trees sampled. We targeted canopy dominate trees of six species. We targeted a minimum of ten trees per species.

Exclusion of trees (if any): Not provided

How cores were collected: Two samples with an increment borer on opposite sides of the tree, parallel to the slope and at chest height

How cores were processed: Not provided

Exclusion of cores (if any): Samples were excluded if they were too decomposed to mount or had broken into multiple pieces and could not be mounted.
