Methods

  • Current Methods
    • Precipitation and volume
      • Started: 1980-01-01
      • Method Description: Precipitation volume and pH are recorded on an event basis.

    • Rain and snow collection
      • Method Description: Rainfall is intercepted by a funnel and passes through a length of tygon tubing until it reaches and is collected in a one gallon jug. Snow is collected and melted indoors to completely melt before pH is measured.

Sampling Equipment

  • Current Equipment
    • pH Measurement
      • Started: 1980-01-01
      • Sampling Description: Cole Parmer digital pH meter model 5987, and a Cole Parmer combination electrode with a calomel reference

    • Rainfall Collection
      • Started: 1980-01-01
      • Sampling Description: Rainfall collector is a screened funnel with a one gallon polyetheylene collection jug.

    • Snowfall Collection
      • Started: 1980-01-01
      • Sampling Description: Snow is collected in a five gallon polyethylene bucket.
